About Pastor Cy M. Fields

A Life Dedicated to Ministry, Service, and Community Transformation

Pastor Cy M. Fields, a proud native of Chicago, has faithfully served in ministry and public service for over 35 years. Ordained in 1996 by the late Reverend Dr. Joseph Sylvester, Pastor Cy has spent the last two decades as the Senior Pastor of New Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, located in East Garfield Park. Under his visionary leadership, New Landmark has flourished as a spiritual beacon for Chicago’s greater west-side, continually expanding its reach and influence in the city and beyond.

Pastor Cy is deeply committed to building lives and uplifting communities. His ministry is centered on a clear and passionate mission: Helping People Win in Life through God’s Word, Great Worship, and Good Works. This mission fuels a range of impactful ministries that address critical issues including ageism, social injustice, family life, community violence, health awareness, and youth mentorship.

Educationally grounded and spiritually driven, Pastor Cy holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology, and a Master of Science in Counselor Education from Illinois State University. To further sharpen his ministry skills, he also attended Chicago Theological Seminary.

With a pastor’s heart and a servant’s mindset, Pastor Cy remains actively involved in local organizations and initiatives that promote justice, equity, and the development of a beloved community. His unwavering belief is that the unfiltered Word of God is the key to transforming lives and achieving social, economic, and educational justice—especially in strengthening Black families.

Above all, Pastor Cy considers his greatest joy and accomplishment to be his role as husband to Yolanda, his partner in life and ministry for over 20 years, and as a proud father to their two daughters, Summer and Autumn.
